Why I created The Daily Reset
Somewhere between work, the house, the never ending list and being everything to everyone, a wife, a mum, a daughter, a sister and a friend, I realised I’d stopped making time for myself.
And I know I’m not the only one.
We spend so much of our lives waiting for things to settle down.
When the house is clean.
When work isn’t so busy.
When the kids need us a little less.
When we finally have some time to ourselves.
But life doesn’t really work like that.
There will always be something to do, someone who needs you or something happening in the background.
I realised I didn’t need to escape my life to feel better. I just needed little reset moments throughout my day.
A reset didn’t have to wait until the house was clean, the work was done or everyone else was taken care of.
It could happen right in the middle of it all.
Lighting a candle while making dinner. Putting on a load of washing and filling the house with a scent I loved. Small moments amongst the chaos of everyday life that gave me a chance to reset.
And that’s really where The Daily Reset began.
I wanted to create a brand that was about more than just the products. Something that reminded us to find those little moments for ourselves amongst everything else we do.
For me, scent has always been a big part of that. It can change the feeling of a room, bring back a memory or simply make an ordinary moment feel different.
And when I started designing our first piece, I knew I didn’t want to create another candle that looked beautiful for a few weeks and ended up in the bin.
I chose onyx, a natural stone where every piece is completely unique. No two candles will ever be the same.
Something you can reset, refill and repeat over and over again.
